BLACKSBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler said a Blacksburg man was killed and a woman was critically injured when the motorcycle they were riding crashed into the side of another vehicle Sunday night.

Fowler said the crash happened at the intersection of Jumping Branch Road and SC Highway 5 at 10 p.m.

John Milton Rachels and his wife were riding a 1976 Honda motorcycle.

Fowler said Rachels pulled into the path of a 2005 Chevrolet van and crashed into the passenger door of the van.

Rachels was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Rachel’s wife, Raven, 39, suffered critical injuries in the crash as well, Fowler said.
