A new assisted living community is opening in Clemson and expected to bring new jobs to the area.

Crews broke ground on the $10 million Dominion Senior Living on Pershing Avenue, which is set to include 49 assisted living apartments and 17 apartments for memory care residents.

The facility is expected to open in fall 2018 and create approximately 50 jobs.

NewSpring pastor Tom Haren was present at the groundbreaking ceremony and led a prayer dedication. Community leaders at the event wrote down prayers to be placed in the building's foundation.

"Dominion Senior Living has a mission to honor God through the service to seniors," a spokesperson for The Point Group said in a press release regarding the project.
