WALHALLA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested a man in connection to the theft of about $4,500 in jewelry on Sunday.

Deputies say 21-year-old Cody Allen Harvey was booked into the detention center around 3:49 Sunday morning.

Harvey was charged with grand larceny for his connection to a jewelry theft that occurred at Kimball Drive on July 18, deputies say. The victim said Harvey took a 14-karat gold wedding band and a 2-karat gold tennis bracelet, valued around $4,500.

Further investigation revealed Harvey had taken the jewelry from family members and never returned the items, investigators say.

Harvey was released from the detention center on Sunday on a personal recognizance bond.
