Our beautiful weather continues today with highs this afternoon reaching the mid to upper 80s in the Upstate and lower 80s in the mountains. With relatively low humidity, it should feel nice with a light breeze from the northeast.
A weak disturbance might prompt a quick shower along the Tennessee border, but our air is so dry that they shouldn’t make it much farther into western North Carolina.
Tonight will be mild, but a little warmer with lower to middle 60-degree lows, followed by a similarly warm, but slightly muggier day Wednesday with a pop-up mountain shower possible.
Thursday and Friday will mark the return of summer as we know it with isolated to scattered afternoon storms on those respective days with warmer and more humid air.
Saturday will bring lingering rain to the Upstate, but the rest of the weekend should be mostly dry with the exception of a stray shower or two and below average temperatures.
The remnants of Tropical Storm Emily continue to move out to sea from Florida's coast. Some rip currents will result along the Carolina coast, along with choppy surf, however no rain or significant wind is expected for the Carolinas.
