GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Greenville police officer kept his promise to enjoy ice cream with a girl who was struck by a car earlier this year.

According to the Greenville Police Department, Officer Brister worked the collision that injured the 11-year-old victim. But his involvement didn’t stop at the crash scene. After the crash, police said Brister went to the hospital to check on the girl and meet her parents.

After the girl’s injuries healed, she and her mother met with Officer Brister for some Blueberry Frog frozen yogurt.

Greenville police shared a photo of the ice cream date on Monday.
