GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville’s mayor and the Greenville Transit Authority are celebrating the city’s expanded trolley system.

The new expanded trolley service will offer four routes:

  1. Arts West
  2. Augusta
  3. Heart of Main
  4. Top of Main

Officials said the Arts West and Augusta routes are funded in part by hospitality tax revenue, which must be used for tourism-related services. These two routes will operate seasonally during the months of May-October. The Heart of Main and Top of Main routes will operate year round.

Operating days and hours for all four routes are:

  • Thursdays, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Fridays, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Sundays, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The new routes begin operation on August 3 at 6 p.m.

At 10 a.m. on Aug. 3, a ceremony will be held to celebrate the launch of the new routes. The ceremony will be held at the intersection of Falls Park Drive & Riverplace.
