SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office say they arrested an Upstate man on a criminal sexual conduct with a minor charge.

Deputies say they responded to the 4000 block of Walnut Grove Road in reference to a sexual assault to a minor call. The alleged assault occurred on May 11 in Spartanburg County.

After further investigation, deputies arrested 42-year-old David Alexander Amayacalero for one count of criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the third degree. Arrests warrants say Amayacalero "inappropriately touched a minor child with lewd and lascivious intent by rubbing the chest and genitalia both underneath and on top of clothing.”

Amayacalero is currently behind bars at the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.

The Criminal Investigations Division is continuing the investigation.
