McDowell County deputies searching for man charged in church break-in

MARION, NC (FOX Carolina) -

McDowell County deputies are asking for help tracking down a man suspected of breaking into a church last month.

Deputies said 26-year-old Adam Keith Rumfelt has been charged with breaking and entering a place of worship, larceny after breaking and entering and obtaining property by false pretense.

The break-in happened on July 16 at West Marion Baptist Church on Stroud Street in Marion.

Deputies said Rumfelt, who is reportedly homeless, stole a can of soup, an electric keyboard and a blanket.

Rumfelt was later caught on surveillance footage pawning the keyboard, deputies said.

Rumfelt is 6’3” tall and weighs about 260 pounds. He has short brown hair and green eyes.
