Troopers: Elderly couple uninjured after train hits car in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the scene of collision involving a train on Thursday.

According to troopers, the incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. on Southport Road near Union Street. Dispatchers said they received a call about a car struck by a train at that location.

Troopers said an elderly couple was in the car, but the train was not moving at a high rate of speed. There were no injuries in the crash.
