GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A group of bikers carrying an American flag across the continental US to raise funds for wounded veterans will make a stop in Greenville on Monday.

The 14,000-mile, 100-day motorcycle journey is called the Patriot Tour. It’s presented by the Nation of Patriots, which, according to a news release, is a national veteran nonprofit organization “whose sole mission is to enhance the lives of wounded veterans and their families.”

During the tour, the flag travels on the back of a motorcycle and is then transferred to a new flag bearer at each destination along the route.

Monday’s destination is the Harley Davidson of Greenville, located at Chrome Drive.

The flag bearer and escort motorcycles are expected to arrive at 1 p.m.

The tour began on May 27 and is expected to end in Wisconsin on Sept. 9.

The goal is to raise $200,000 during the journey, which is expected to include more than 150,000 riders.
