GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greer Police Department said Monday evening that a section of Brushy Creek Road had reopened after repairs had been made following two water main breaks.

The first incident occurred on August 24 on Brushy Creek Road at Buncombe Road. Due to the water main break, Brushy Creek Road was closed from Buncombe Road to Henderson Gap.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation said the break was caused by a utility contractor who bored into a 24-inch water main.

Greer CPW said a second water mean break occurred in the area later that same day.

A boil water advisory was issued for people living in the area but that advisory was lifted on August 25.

On Monday, Greer police advised that repairs had been completed and Brushy Creek Road was back open to all traffic.
