SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Multiple fire crews are working to identify hot spots after a heavily-involved house fire in the Creekwood Subdivision in Simpsonville.

Firefighters took 15 minutes to bring the blaze under control at a home located on Meadowrise Lane where flames were bursting through the roof of the home, per Clear Springs Fire Chief Gabe Mull.

The fire was initially reported by neighbors as a heavy fire that was spreading to the neighboring homes. An occupant was inside the home at the time of the fire and he said he saw the flames outside of his window, Chief Mull said.

The occupant was able to make it out safely and no injuries were reported.

At this time, the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but they believe it started behind the house. The chief says the home is 50% damaged and can possibly be salvaged.

The neighbors to the left of the home also sustained damage to their home from the fire. Chief Mull said the vinyl side panel on the home began to melt from the heat radiating off the home on fire.

Victims of the fire are being set up with Red Cross.

The Clear Springs, Pelham-Batesville, and Fountain Inn Fire Departments responded to the fire.
