SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers with the SC Highway Patrol are investigating a deadly crash near Seneca Monday morning.

The crash happened along the 1900 block of Sandifer Boulevard just before 7 a.m.

Coroner Karl Addis said the crash happened at the entrance to Schneider Electric Company.

Addis said Frances “Frankie” R. Pruett, 74, of Northside Circle, Seneca, died at the scene from blunt force trauma.

"Ms. Pruett had provided transportation for a son who is employed at Schneider Electric; she was attempting to cross the westbound lanes of traffic to turn east when the collision occurred," Addis said.

Troopers said Pruett was hit by a vehicle traveling west on the highway.

The driver of the second vehicle was injured in the accident but was not taken to the hospital.

No charges have been filed.
