Greenville County Schools said the Change in Assignment School Choice Lottery window opens Monday for parents looking to move their children to different schools of their choosing.

During the lottery window, which runs through December 5, GCS officials said parents can submit a choice form for up to three schools for their child at their number one choice school.

Choice forms are available at every school but must be completed and submitted at the number one choice school. The school district said assignments are not first-come-first serve, so parents will not be allowed to line up at schools.

Once the filing period ends, officials said a lottery will be conducted and results will be posted on February 14, 2018 on the GCS website. Names will not be included on the wbsite listing, and parents must access the results by using their Change in Assignment choice form number.

Students who select a school as a higher choice have priority over students selecting the same school as a lower priority.

The Change in Assignment School Choice Lottery process does not include GCS’s magnet schools.
