SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies are investigating after a pastor said he believes his gun was stolen during a Sunday service.

The theft occurred on November 12 at Carolina Baptist Church.

Pastor Adman Williamson called deputies on Monday to report that the 9mm Kel-Tec handgun had been stolen.

Per incident reports, Williamson told deputies he had brought his gun to church with him and then left it in a gym bag when he changed clothes for a baptism. When he returned to his unlocked office after the service, the gun was gone.

Williamson told deputies he waited to call and report the incident because he thought it may have been possible that he had left the gun at home or in his vehicle.
