Coroner identifies pedestrian who died weeks after being hit by car in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers said a pedestrian who was hit by a car in early November has died.

The crash happened just after 5 p.m. on November 2 along Fernwood Glendale Road.

The 59-year-old victim was crossing the road and was struck by a 2007 Honda that was traveling east. He was later identified as Dennis Ray Phillips of Spartanburg.

The coroner said Phillips died from injuries sustained in the crash on November 16 after extensive medical treatment from multiple body trauma.

The incident was ruled an accident. No charges have been filed.

The driver, a 25-year-old from Moore, was not hurt.
