Clouds and cool temperatures stick around today, with the next chance for rain returning late Friday into Saturday in advance of Christmas Eve.
Today, a mostly cloudy sky keeps high temperatures in the low 50s Upstate and near 50 degrees in the mountains. Expect the breeze to come from the east and stay fairly light. Tonight, lows drop into the 40s area-wide.
Clouds linger Friday, and thicken up ahead of more rain this weekend. Temps will be milder by Friday afternoon with highs in the upper 50s for the Upstate and low to mid 50s in the mountains. Showers will develop late Friday night into the day on Saturday, starting in the mountains and slowly spreading into the Upstate.
Saturday will bring the best chance for rain over the weekend as highs reach well up into the 60s! The sky will gradually clear on Christmas Eve with temps in the mid 50s to low 60s.
Christmas Day looks mostly dry highs in the low 40s for the mountains and around 50 degrees for the Upstate. There is a SMALL chance for a few snowflakes Christmas morning along the TN border in the mountains.
Expect quiet and mostly sunny conditions to continue into the middle of next week.
