BOILING SPRINGS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said a woman faces multiple charges after Ingles employees caught her shoplifting and she caused a commotion in the store before fleeing and leading law enforcement on a chase.

Deputies said the incident began at the Ingles on Boiling Springs Road, where employees saw Robin Nesbitt, 28, stuff pantyhose and other items into her purse.

When employees confronted her, deputies said Nesbitt denied any shoplifting and began yelling and screaming. She’s also accused of putting her hands on an employee in a forceful manner and kicking over items in the store as she ran out.

When Nesbitt fled the parking lot in a Cadillac, deputies said she also struck the car in the space next to hers.

Deputies encountered the Cadillac and tried to pull the vehicle over, but said Nesbitt did not stop and led them on a chase.

Nesbitt was later arrested and charged with strong arm robbery, driving under suspension, leaving the scene of an accident, malicious injury to personal property, failure to stop for blue lights, and breach of peace.
