People jump into frigid New Year with Paris Plunge

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

People will take a frigid dip to begin the new year Monday at the 7th Annual Paris Plunge.

The Paris Mountain State Park Foundation said people will leap into the icy waters of Lake Placid at 1:18 p.m.

According to the FOX Carolina weather app, the temperature in Greenville will be 30 degrees at 1 p.m.

Afterward, participants will be able to warm up with hot beverages and doughnuts.

Prizes will be awarded for best costume.

The cost to participate is $5 for kids and $10 for adults. The foundation said all proceeds benefit the park.

Registration begins at 11:30 p.m. in the Park Center.
