MARION, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A McDowell County grand jury has indicted an Old Fort woman in connection with an overdose death that occurred in February 2017.

Deputies Natasha Leann Brooks, 23, was indicted for accessory after the fact to second-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Sydney Dara Nanney, of Marion.

Nanney was found dead in her car from a drug overdose, deputies said.

Brooks’ boyfriend, 27-year-old Shane Allen Parker, of Marion, was charged with second-degree murder in the case.

Deputies said Parker sold Nanney the fentanyl and heroin that killed her. Brooks is accused of helping him  by meeting others to pick up the drugs and also hiding drugs from investigators during the investigation.
