BOILING SPRINGS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies in Spartanburg County said a man was arrested Tuesday after following women around a Walmart and claiming to be an FBI agent.

The incident happened at the Walmart on Highway 9 in Boiling Springs.

Deputies said workers at the store said the man had been following women around the store and when confronted, he identified himself as an FBI agent and claimed he was requesting a swat team at the store.

Deputies said the man was outside the store when they arrived. When deputies approached the man, they said he began cursing in front of customers and then stated he was an FBI agent and didn’t need to speak with deputies.

The man then took off, walking toward the direction of Rainbow Lake Road and deputies said a foot chase ensued. The man, identified as 52-year-old James Davis, was arrested into custody on Highway 9 near McMillan Boulevard.

Davis was charged with impersonating law enforcement, resisting arrest, and public disorderly conduct, according to incident reports.
