Clinton PD: Car crashes into residence after high speed chase

CLINTON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Officers say a car crashed into a residence after a high speed chase Tuesday night in Clinton.

Police said the pursuit was initiated after the suspect fled the scene of a license safety check point on Phillips St. 

According to officers, the suspect attempted to make a right turn when she lost lost control of the vehicle due to the high rate of speed. The suspect crashed into a residence on North Adair St., officers said. 

The vehicle pushed the porch into the residence compromised the foundation, police said. 

Officers said the suspect had a suspended license and prior charge for driving under suspension within the last five years. 

The suspect and passenger were taken to the hospital, officers said. 

Officers said warrants have been issued for the driver for failure to stop for blue lights, operating an uninsured vehicle, display of tag registered to another vehicle and driving under suspension second offense. 

Officers said the passenger will not be charged in the incident.
