A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of the area for snow accumulation Tuesday night into early Wednesday leading to travel concerns.
Clouds build through the afternoon as highs reach the 40s. Upstate will stay dry through the evening commute, while the mountains will begin to see snow.
After 4 PM, snow showers become possible in western North Carolina through the rest of the evening.
In the Upstate, snow showers become possible after 11 PM tonight through 7 AM Wednesday morning.
Accumulations will vary across the area, but ANY snow that falls will stick…leading to travel concerns for many.
Temperatures Wednesday will struggle to rise above freezing in the Upstate and will stay below freezing in the mountains. The wind chill will be a concern as well, with values going below zero in the mountains.
Thursday morning starts in the teens area-wide, so any residual snow/ice will continue but temperatures rebound quickly by afternoon into the 40s.
Friday into the weekend, a warming trend begins with highs reaching the low 60s by Sunday! The next chance of rain arrives Monday.
