SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg police are investigating after a man was found stabbed outside an apartment building Monday.

Police said they were called to Kensington Manor Apartments on Kensington Drive just after 10 a.m. and found the victim with the back of a knife protruding from his chest.

Officers said the weapon appeared to be a steak knife and it was missing its handle.

The responding officer applied pressure to the wound to try and stop the bleeding until EMS arrived, per incident reports.

The victim and a witness said the incident began when the suspect, who had recently moved out of the apartment, returned to get more of his belongings and got into an argument with the victim over a blanket.

Police have not said what charges the suspect will face in the case.
