GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greenville County Coroner said one person has died after a car and an 18-wheeler collided on Augusta Road on Wednesday morning.

The crash happened along the 6700 block near Centre Boulevard around 7:45 a.m.

The coroner said a car and an 18-wheeler collided and the driver of the car died at the scene.

According to the Highway Patrol, all lanes were initially blocked after the crash. Traffic was moving again as of 9 a.m.

Troopers said the driver of the car lost control, crossed the center line, and struck the oncoming tractor trailer on the right side.

The coroner later identified the victim as 22-year-old Thomas Michael Caudle of Donald, SC. His cause of death has been listed as blunt force trauma.

This case remains under investigation by the Greenville County Coroner's Office and SC Highway Patrol.
