SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Spartanburg Police Department was called to the scene of a disturbance with a weapon on Tuesday.

According to officers, when they arrived on scene, a male victim said his brother came up behind him and began hitting him. Police said the men's father then got involved in the incident to try to break up the conflict.

According to the incident report, Michael Lipscomb, who is accused of hitting his brother, told officers he was stabbed with an ice pick during the incident.

All of the individuals involved agreed a box cutter was presented during the altercation and agreed Lipscomb was stabbed in the backside with a screwdriver, officers said.

Police said Lipscomb suffered a stab wound to the hand. The other men reportedly had a bloody mouth and facial scratches.

Lipscomb, who police said had been involved in prior disturbance calls, was transported to the hospital for injuries before being arrested for third-degree assault and battery.
