SPARTANBURG COUNTY (FOX Carolina) -

Fans make sure cameras catch flashes of greatness. Commentators say he commands the floor with high-flying dominant dunks. Now, the one major play Zion Williamson is about to make will change his life.

"It's just exciting he's had the opportunity to experience that. It's a great experience," Lee Anderson said.

He's Williamson's stepfather. Anderson and the teen's mother, Sharonda Sampson, are proud parents.

"She and I started the gym stuff together and as Zion got a little older - she's teaching school - me and Zion would sneak off; we'll go to the gym," Anderson said.

He says they taught Zion that hard work, works.

The countdown is on now, and Zion will announce where he's bouncing off to college.

"He's probably the most sought after athlete in the country at this time. And a lot of folks are waiting on that decision," Anderson said.

So where is Zion going?

"He has not made up his mind," Anderson said.

Many believe it could be South Carolina, Clemson, North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, or Kentucky.

"Zion's never deemed it - these are the six schools he just said that these are coaches that are still contacting me," Anderson said. "He's still in a decisive moment about trying to decide even as we speak...who made the best presentation to him."

Zion will make his decision at Spartanburg Day School on Saturday, January 20, which is also his mother's birthday. The announcement is expected around 8 p.m.

"To reward his mom for everything that she's done for him on her birthday, I thought that was so fitting," Anderson said. "So many people across the spectrum or across the globe right now are still trying to figure out what Zion's going to do."

FOX Carolina asked Anderson if he knew Zion's decision.

"I don't know, I don't know," he said.
