The 10th annual Lake Greenwood Cleanup Blitz will take place Saturday, Mar. 3.

Volunteers will gather at the Lake Greenwood State Park from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. The Lake Greenwood Cleanup Blitz is coordinated by Keep Greenwood County Beautiful.

Since 2009, volunteers have collected over 40,000 pounds of trash along the shorelines and over the past two years alone, they’ve collected over 7,000 pounds.

Each year, an estimated 300 volunteers show their support and participate in this event.

This year, Keep Greenwood County Beautiful is expanding their efforts to make the clean up a huge success.

They’re partnering with Greenwood County Lake Management, Greenwood County Public Works, Lake Greenwood State Park, Preserving Lake Greenwood, Palmetto Pride, and the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce.
