GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Firefighters were called to a fire at Kangaroo Jax after smoke and fire were reported coming from the business Tuesday morning, according to Johnathan Bragg, a spokesman for Greenville police. Once they arrived on scene, firefighters say they saw smoke coming from the roof.

Firefighters on scene said the fire was contained to the outside and caused little damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but appears to have been a small electrical fire, officials say.

Kangaroo Jax was not open at the time of the fire, but a neighboring business was temporarily evacuated as a precaution.

Bragg said police and firefighters responded.

Kangaroo Jax is a family play center located on Laurens Road at the former site of Monkey Joe’s, which closed in 2016.

FOX Carolina has a crew headed to the scene.
