Worker charged with assault after reported groping at Greenville restaurant

Greenville police said a worker at a West End restaurant accused of groping a woman who was waiting to order food has been charged with assault.

Police said the incident happened Monday at OJ’s Diner on Pendleton Street.

The victim stated that she was standing in line waiting to order food when the suspect grabbed her buttocks, according to a police department spokesman.

After an investigation, police said Carlton Hamilton was named the suspect and was arrested at Towers East.

Hamilton was charged with assault and battery second degree, according to online jail records.
