BOILING SPRINGS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies said a 20-year-old man was arrested after multiple witnesses reported a man with a gun entered the Walmart in Boiling Springs and ordered everyone to get on the ground.

According to jail records, Jason Wooten of Wellford is charged with attempted armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime for the incident Monday at the store on Highway 9.

The incident happened just after 2 a.m.

Deputies said surveillance video showed a man wearing a white cowboy hat who had the lower half of his face covered enter the store via the grocery side. Deputies said the video then showed the man waive a gun in the air, and then point the gun at people in the store. The man then left the store about one minute later.

According to witnesses, the man ordered everyone to get on the ground when he pulled out the gun.

No one was hurt and employees ordered everyone to back of the store for safety after the man ran off.

Wooten was identified as the suspect and later arrested.
