Missing man in Pisgah National Forest found safe

PISGAH FOREST, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The Transylvania County Sheriff's Office says a man who went missing while camping has been found safe. 

The missing person was identified as 37-year-old John Marshall Fullbright Jr.

Deputies said Fullbright was camping with his girlfriend, went to get firewood, and never returned. 

 Fullbright was found safe on Wednesday, deputies said. According to the sheriff's office, he became disoriented after he walked away from the campsite.

Fullbright was last seen in the Avery's Creek area around 1 p.m. on Monday.
