ELBERTON, GA (FOX Carolina) -

A man wanted out of the Upstate on grand larceny charges is in custody after a manhunt in another state on Wednesday.

Deputies said 32-year-old Nicholas Blake Phillips led authorities on a multi-jurisdictional car chase in a stolen white Chevrolet truck.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office, the Franklin Springs Police Department, the Elbert County Sheriff's Office, the Royston Police Department and Georgia State Patrol were involved in the pursuit.

Franklin County deputies said Phillips managed to elude officers briefly before they picked the chase back up and it traveled into Hart County and Elbert County.

Phillips crashed the truck just north of Elberton and fled on foot, according to deputies. Officials tried to track him using K-9s and helicopters, but the search was suspended after several hours.

On Thursday morning, Phillips was taken into custody when a resident of Elbert County found him hiding on his property and held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived, they said.

Phillips, a resident of Starr, was on the Anderson County Sheriff's Office's "Most Wanted" list for two counts of grand larceny in connection with vehicles stolen from the Budget Inn and Plastic Omnium. He was featured on FOX Carolina's "Most Wanted" segment on Tuesday.

In connection with the incident, Franklin County deputies said they also arrested Taylor Brooke Pierce in another stolen vehicle. Pierce also had an outstanding warrant for grand larceny out of Anderson County in connection with the Budget Inn auto theft case, deputies said.

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office said the pair were traveling together through Georgia in separate but suspected-stolen vehicles. They are awaiting extradition back to the Upstate.
