SPARTANBURG COUNTY (FOX Carolina) -

A Spartanburg County man was laid to rest nearly a week after he was found murdered inside his home.

Fred Richards was found murdered inside his Landrum home on Saturday morning. His wife, Francis, and their friend Nathan Poffenberger were also found murdered inside, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.

"It still feels like I haven't woke up," said Tina Hicks, Fred Richards daughter.

One week has passed since Tina Hicks last saw her dad.

“I want to go see him so bad,” said Hicks, “I’ve even caught myself driving that way.”

Hicks said she does not understand why someone would have wanted to hurt her father.

“Why? What did he do to you, for you to take him away? He was always friendly and my mama was so happy all the time,” said Hicks.

Investigators have not released how they were killed, but described the scene inside the Richards home as brutal.

The coroner ruled their deaths homicide, but investigators have remained tight-lipped about many details, out of fear it could compromise the case.

“It makes me very sad and angry that they haven't caught them, but I know that they're trying,” said Hicks.

"very sad, angry, that they haven't but I know that they're trying. they're trying hard. i know that."

Investigators believe the victims likely knew the person or persons that killed them, and Hicks said that detail is hard to swallow.

“It’s even worse to know that it could be somebody that knew him and that we all know,” said Hicks.

Hicks said it’s a scary feeling, knowing her father and stepmother's killer is on the loose, and even more heartbreaking that it could have been someone they were close to.

“It’s scary, thinking that we could be shaking their hand and they just look us in the eye and us not know it was them,” said Hicks.

Hicks said she prays their killer will be brought to justice, but even then, she said this tragedy will haunt her the rest of her life.

“There will never be full closure,” said Hicks.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about this case to contact the Spartanburg County Sheriffs Office or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
