ABBEVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Abbeville County Sheriff's Office said a man has been charged with murder in his girlfriend's stabbing death on Saturday.

The stabbing happened around 7 a.m. inside a home on Cathy Lane in Honea Path.

Deputies said they were called by the suspect's mother, who told them Kenneth Yarbrough, 56, had stabbed his girlfriend during a domestic dispute.

Deputies said they arrived to find Yarbrough covered in blood and a woman dead. The woman was in a wheelchair in the hallway and had multiple stab wounds to her upper chest.

Coroner Ronnie Ashley identified the victim as 54-year-old Patricia Gayle Todd.

Yarbrough was arrested at the scene and taken to the Abbeville County Detention Center, where deputies said he was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Bond was denied.
