GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Crews responded to a fire at an Upstate fast food restaurant on Saturday.

The call came from the Wendy's on W Wade Hampton Blvd in Greer.

Witnesses said the lobby of the restaurant was filled with smoke, and firefighters were on top of the building.

Officials with Greer Fire Department said a small fire started in the grease area of the kitchen, but it was quickly contained.

No injuries were reported, and the building sustained minor damage.

Joshua Holzheimer, Deputy Fire Chief with City of Greer Fire Department said the fire was called in around 10:46 p.m. Taylors and Greer Fire Departments both responded to the scene.

Holzheimer said the store was turned back over to staff and the fire was ruled unintentional.
