Cool at times this week with several chances of mountain snow.
Expect decreasing clouds today, becoming mostly sunny and breezy in the afternoon with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s in the mountains to the upper 50s to near 60 degrees in the Upstate.
While the Upstate stays dry tonight, mountain snow becomes likely. A winter weather advisory goes into effect at 7 PM tonight and lasts through 10 AM Tuesday for the counties bordering the TN state line.
Snow accumulations of 1-3” are possible in these areas, and with windy conditions persisting, brief periods of blowing snow are possible.
Tuesday and Wednesday bring cooler air and sunshine to the region.
Clouds build on Thursday ahead of the next system, leading to a chance of evening showers for some. Some snow is possible Friday morning across western North Carolina while the Upstate sees just rain.
The weekend looks to start dry on Saturday before rain and possibly mountain snow move in Sunday.
