Deputies: Man kicked in woman's door, robbed her

CHESNEE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies charged a Chesnee man after a woman said he forced himself into her home, beat her, and stole her belongings.

Deputies said the incident happened at a home on Hub Greer Road in Chesnee Sunday afternoon.

The 39-year-old victim told deputies that Brad High had kicked in her door and then demanded money and other items. When she didn’t “help him,” the victim told deputies High punched her in the nose and then began stealing items from her bedroom by stuffing them into a pillow case. High then reportedly hit the victim several more times before fleeing.

According to incident reports, High is accused of stealing two cell phones and the victim’s purse. The reports state deputies found a muddy boot print on the damaged door and what looked like blood droplets on the ground.

Deputies tracked High to an address on Will Landrum Road and said he locked himself in a bedroom but eventually agreed to speak by phone.

During the call, deputies said he admitted to breaking into the victim’s home and stealing from her but denied hitting her. He claimed the victim bit him and struck him with a baseball bat during the burglary, reports state.

Deputies said High was arrested and charged with burglary and strong arm robbery.
