Greer police make arrest after finding gunshot victim in apartment covered in blood

GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greer Police Department said a man is facing multiple charges after a shooting on Jan. 14.

Officers were called to the shooting at Northgate Apartments on Biblebrook Drive around 2:45 p.m.

According to the incident report, when police arrived on scene they found a male victim with apparent gunshot wounds and blood spatter on the wall. Blood was also seen on the kitchen floor and the floor near the victim. Items were disturbed as if there had been an altercation.

The victim was transported to the hospital.

The incident report states that witnesses told police a man named "AJ" pulled a gun out after knocking on the door to the apartment. Officers said they were told "AJ" shot the victim following an altercation.

Police arrested 26-year-old Ahkeem Jabar Rector in connection with the case. He is currently being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center after being charged with attempted murder, first-degree burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
