Simpsonville woman killed in crash after running off road, striking trees

SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that claimed the life of a Simpsonville woman on Monday.

Troopers said the collision occurred just before 1 p.m. on West Faris Road near Medical Path Road.

The driver, a 71-year-old woman from Simpsonville, ran off the right side of the road and struck two trees, troopers said. She succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

She was identified as Donna Fisher of Capewood Drive. She suffered blunt force trauma.

A passenger in the vehicle was also transported to the hospital with injuries.

The case is being investigated by the Greenville County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
