SLATER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Duke Energy crews spent Tuesday morning repairing thousands of outages in northern Greenville County.

As of 6 a.m. Duke was reporting 6,156 outages.

By 6:45 a.m., that number was down to 4,764.

Most of the outages were in communities along US 25 in the Tigerville and Locust Hill areas, and along US 276/ SC 11 in the Slater and Cleveland communities.

By 8:15 a.m. little more than 1,000 outages remained, mostly contained to the Tigerville area between SC 414 and the North Saluda Resevoir.

By 10:15, fewer than a dozen outages were being reported throughout Greenville County

Duke’s online outage map did not list a cause for the outages, but meteorologists suspect strong winds may have played a factor.
