Deputies: Man found dead in Upstate yard after fight

ABBEVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Abbeville County Sheriff's Office is investigating a death on Monday.

Deputies said they were called to Mt. Carmel Road in regards to a man lying unresponsive in a yard. The victim was found deceased with facial swelling.

Investigators said they determined the victim had been involved in an altercation with 50-year-old Jason Stroud. The victim died from injuries sustained in the fight.

He was identified as 53-year-old Gary Lyn Trimnal. Trimnal's death was ruled a homicide after his cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma.

Stroud was arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter. He is currently being held at the Abbeville County Detention Center.
