Milder weather is ahead before some cooler air moves in for Friday and the weekend.
Mostly sunny today with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s - a nice day after a colder morning!
Most of Thursday will be dry with increasing clouds and highs in the 50s before another cold front arrives toward late evening.
This front will bring rain chances to the mountains first, changing to snow for some toward early Friday morning. The Upstate sees mostly rain through early Friday morning. The best chance of accumulating snow will be along the ridgetops of the mountains in western NC.
Friday afternoon brings a clearing sky and cooler air – expect highs in the upper 30s to upper 40s.
Saturday starts cold and stays cool with highs in the 40s ahead of the next system Sunday.
At this time, light snow or sleet could begin early Sunday morning in the Upstate and mountains before changing to rain. The Upstate sees mostly a cold rain through the day Sunday while the mountains could see a more prolonged period of snow and sleet mixing with rain.
The start of the week brings clearing conditions and milder days.
