SPARTANBURG COUNTY (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate school district is asking the public for help after a truck ruined a play area at an elementary school.

Spartanburg County School District 2 announced that a field used as a play area at James H. Hendrix Elementary was vandalized by a truck Monday night. The district posted surveillance video on their Facebook page Tuesday afternoon showing a truck driving through the schools parking lot before two people get out of vehicle and walk off screen. Moments later, the two suspects return to the truck and drive out of the parking lot. The video jumps ahead to show the truck again in the background driving around in the field in the distance.

According to the Facebook post, the incident happened around 8 p.m. while the ground was wet, allowing the truck to cause hundreds of dollars in extensive damage to the field. District officials say that the field is used by students at the school for various activities which are now limited due to the vandalism.

The District filed a report with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office of the incident. Anyone with information may call Sgt. Jason Carraway at (864) 809-8135 or email him at jcarraway@spartanburgcounty.org.
