GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A three-legged domesticated prairie dog is back home after escaping in Greenville’s North Main neighborhood.

Allison Cook said “Chipper” got out of his cage on Tuesday and was believed to have escaped the home on Buist Drive through a doggie door while she was at work. Cook was pet-sitting Chipper when he escaped.

She said Chipper is friendly to people and may approach anyone with almonds, dry oatmeal, or sunflower seeds.

On Wednesday, Cook confirmed Chipper was home.

According to Cook, people were outside looking for Chipper but briefly went inside. When they returned outside, Chipper was waiting for them at the front door.
