ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Police have released a surveillance photo they say show two suspects accused of pistol whipping and trying to rob an employee outside the Asheville Mall on Feb. 1.

The employee was leaving the mall and walking to his vehicle, which was parked in front of the entrance adjacent to Barnes & Noble, when the suspects approached him, police said. One of the male suspects pulled a gun and demanded money before hitting the victim in the head with the gun.

Police said the suspects tried to take the victim's person belongings and money, but the victim did not have anything.

The suspects ran off toward the intersection of Tunnel Road and South Tunnel.

Police was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police ask anyone who can help identify the suspects to call the Asheville Police Department at (828) 252-1110 or Crime Stoppers  at (828) 255-5050.
