Anderson Co. Sheriff's Office: Deputy approached by juvenile suspect with knife

ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers are investigating a collision involving an Upstate deputy Tuesday evening.

Per troopers, a driver pulled out in front of an Anderson County deputy on Anderson Road at SC 153 around 8:15 p.m.

The sheriff's office said the driver struck the deputy's driver's side rear door. 

According to the sheriff's office, a man approached the deputy while holding a large knife in his hand. Deputies said the suspect complied when asked to drop the knife and get on the ground. 

The suspect is a juvenile, deputies said. He was charged with presenting a deadly weapon.
