Coroner identifies victim of fatal collision on I-85 in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Spartanburg County Coroner's office has identified the victim of a fatal collision on I-85 southbound Wednesday. 

The incident occurred at mile marker 60, troopers said. 

According to highway patrol, the driver of a 2004 Jeep ran off the road, struck a sign, and then a tree. Troopers said the victim was entrapped and had to be mechanically extracted.

The coroner identified the victim as 27-year-old Talon Kade Gambrell from Piedmont.

Gambrell was a nurse at St. Francis hospital and was engaged.

Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
