Deputies: Two injured in dog attack in Anderson Co.

ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office responded to a dog attack on Friday.

Deputies said the incident occurred on Keys Street around 2:52 p.m. According to the Sheriff's Office, two people were injured in the incident.

According to the incident report, the dog broke off his leash and attacked a nearby victim working outside. The report states that the dog grabbed onto the victim's arm and wouldn't let go.

Deputies said the victim told them someone had to hit the dog in the head with a hammer before he would let go.

A second person was bitten on the chin during the incident, the report states.

Deputies said the dog was taken by Animal Control.
