Rainy weather, fog and flood concerns to continue along with the chance of a few thunderstorms.
Rain overspreads the area this morning, becoming locally heavy at times. Several small rivers and streams will reach or exceed flood stage.
After a noontime relative lull, there’s also a chance of a few thunderstorms this afternoon along with an occasional wind gust over 40 miles per hour. Rain will begin to taper off and move southeast of our area by tomorrow evening.
Until then, flooding will continue to be a concern along and north of I-85 as flood watches remain in effect through Monday morning.
Western North Carolina should expect to receive 2-4 inches of rain, and possibly 1-3 inches in the Upstate. Spotty showers will linger into Monday and Tuesday but won’t result in a washout either day as highs climb into the 60 to near 70, and then fall back into the 50s on Tuesday.
We’ll rebound quickly on Wednesday and the rest of the week with highs in the 60s to near 70 with another chance for a few showers on Thursday and then again next Saturday.
